So, I know I've commented in the past, but I feel like I should say something. I REALLY want this for SideQuest! I'm not a programmer, but I'd love to see it make it's way to SideQuest or even App Lab if Meta thinks it's that good! I know it's been a while since anything major has happened with this game, but I think this is the kind of thing people would absolutely adore if made available to people on the Quest platform. Idk what plans you guys have for the game, I just wanted to assure you that we haven't forgotten about it. :) And encourage you to keep going!

Thanks a lot for your kind words :)
Like you, we'd love to provide a native build for Quest. Fortunately we are still looking into it and we put time for that whenever we have the opportunity.
We cannot provide you an ETA but we'll make sure to announce it here and on our socials.

Hello,
We just want to let you know that Flickblocks is now available on Quest !
You can get it directly from Applab.

Thanks again for your support :)

Anyone know if this will work on the Quest 2? I know it says it works on the Rift and some games from the rift work on the quest. Is this one of those?

This prototype was made with a old version of the Oculus SDK (before the release of the Quest) so I highly doubt that it would work on the Quest.

it is actually very easy to update the SDK, the OVR sdk is just dragging prefabs on the scenes... it is that easy, and I would love a Quest version! :D

Goo to know, thanks for the tip :)
We'll try to remember pinging you if we do the update.

make sure you download the asset from the assetstore, not from package manager, as the assetstore one has some really neat prefabs

Hello,

 Enjoy!

This looks like the perfect puzzle game for VR! Sadly I don't have a PC powerful enough to support VR, but I do love me some Tetris! So I'm sure it's an amazing experience. Could this game come to SideQuest in the future? It seems like the perfect kind of game for the platform, especially amongst all the other itch.io VR titles that have made their way to SideQuest.

I don't have a VR headset, but when I get one I'll be sure to play this at the first chance I can!

Do you have some kind of documentation we can look at to learn from you?

We don't have pulbic documentation for this project but we may be able to answer some of your questions.

What kind of information are you looking for ?

Hey thanks for the answer :)
How do you track the blocks which are taken after i placed the block. Do you have a 3D grid?

It's a kind of a 3D grid made of triggers and collisions. When placing a block in the grid we use a "virtual copy" aligned in the grid. We use this copy to check for the correct final placement of the block.
Bear in mind this prototype has been made in just a  few weeks so it might not be the best way to achieve this.

ok jea a grid with triggers and maybe a two sided array would be my way of doing this :)

hello hop all is well.....im trying to download FlickBlocks and keep getting Failed - download error. it downloads then at the end it failes

Hello! Download seems to be working for us today, can you try again?

The idea is good but the implementation is better. In just a few seconds it feels natural to put blocks in place. With some improvements (music gets repetitive easily, the environment feels too "artificial") it could be even better.

I'll follow the development!

Thank you for your feedback !
Sadly the project isn't under active development. We will make to keep you posted if some development happens ;)

Really incredible game!  I got so absorbed and such a unique take on the Tetris style game.  One improvement would be the ability to swap hands with a held shape so it would be easier to do a complete 180 degree move/placement on the gaming board.  Already a 5* game.
